In a recent interview with CNET, Kevin Lynch, Apple’s Vice President of Technology, discussed watchOS 10 and Apple’s vision for the Apple Watch. Lynch stated that he wants the Apple Watch to be a “Key to the World” for its users. This design vision has been in place since the first generation of Apple Watch, which supported Apple Pay. Since then, Apple has continued to enrich and expand its functionality. The watch can now be used as a car key, access control, and door key.
Lynch explained that watchOS 10 will further enrich the watch’s widget to display richer and more important information through a reasonable layout that ensures the aesthetics of the dial.
When asked about the next step after Apple Watch replaces all our keys, Lynch hinted at replacing the wallet.
