Review: ErgoFx table
The ErgoFx remote has unique benefits such as cable management and a built-in wireless charger for your iPhone, but it comes at a price.
An adjustable desk can be a valuable investment in your health and productivity, allowing you to switch between sitting and standing positions throughout the workday. However, some desks have limited features, which may affect your comfort and convenience.
If you’re looking for a standing desk that offers more than just height adjustment, the ErgoFx desk allows you to switch between sitting and standing positions, and also has practical features to expand your workspace.
ErgoFx remote control – easy setup
The ErgoFx remote arrived in two heavy boxes. The assembly process was easy with clear instructions and well thought out parts. Its assembly can be done by one person, but you will need an extra pair of hands to turn it over after attaching the legs.
Setting up the ErgoFx console was easy.
The first step was to connect the cords and two legs. The legs had a mechanism that allowed them to snap into place when we tilted them, and did not require any special tools.
The next step was to attach the feet to the legs using four screws for each leg. The screws fit perfectly into the pre-drilled holes, and we tested the stability of the legs by trying to move them with some force. They didn’t budge and were very secure and durable.
Once we assembled it, we were pleased with its sleek and elegant appearance. The ErgoFx table is available in three different finishes, and for this review we used the matte walnut finish. The workbench had rounded edges, making it comfortable to work on for long periods of time, while enhancing its aesthetic appeal and preventing accidental injury.
ErgoFx desk – characteristics and features
The ErgoFx desk measures 62.1 x 31.3 x 5.31 inches and has a maximum load capacity of 176 pounds, allowing you to easily accommodate your computer, keyboard, and other office supplies. However, it is not ideal for heavy tasks that require multiple large monitors and heavy boxes of documents.
ErgoFx desk with control panel, drawer and USB ports.
To the left of the table is a control panel with a digital display showing the current table height. You can easily adjust the table height by pressing the control panel up or down. This is a more intuitive and convenient method compared to other standing desks that require you to find buttons to press.
You can also adjust three preset heights—sitting, standing, and a third as you wish. During our testing, the table moved smoothly and silently.
We tested the table’s anti-collision function by placing a plastic storage container underneath it. When we lowered the table, it detected the object and stopped moving. To prevent any harm to the table or container, it automatically raised itself about an inch.
You can also pin the control panel to prevent accidental changes to settings. The lock feature was easy to activate and deactivate with a few steps on the control panel, and it worked as expected.
ErgoFx desk – Cable organization and management
A unique feature of the ErgoFx table is its built-in wireless charging module. This module allows you to wirelessly charge your iPhone while also acting as a stand that tilts your phone for the optimal viewing angle. When you remove your phone, the module aligns and blends in with the rest of the desk, giving you more space and less clutter.
The ErgoFx table is equipped with a built-in wireless charging module.
Another aspect of this desk that we liked were the built-in ports that allowed us to charge our devices right from the desk. While we could use our wireless chargers, having two built-in USB-C ports and one USB-A port on the side of the desk gave us more options for keeping our devices powered.
The USB port area lights up when your hand is nearby, making it easy to find and connect cables in low light or at night. This intuitive design improves the user experience and offers a smart charging solution for your gadgets.
The ErgoFx desk also has a drawer in which you can store accessories. When you open it, the drawer lights up, so you don’t have to search for accessories in the dark. This attention to detail was a simple but thoughtful feature that improved the user experience.
The desk drawer has removable built-in compartments.
The drawer has built-in compartments to keep your belongings neatly organized. However, you can also remove them and customize the box according to your preferences.
There’s a built-in 5-outlet extension cord underneath the desk to keep your cords and cables organized. The panel can be lowered to connect devices and closed again after connection. This hidden extension cord is great for keeping your workspace neat and tidy.
ErgoFx remote control – with app support
There is an additional ErgoFx app that you can download to get additional features to optimize your desktop experience. For example, you can set a sedentary reminder for the app to alert you to get up at regular intervals, in case your Apple Watch’s reminders aren’t enough to motivate you. The ErgoFx app also gives you personalized recommendations for ideal sitting and standing heights based on your measurements. You can enter your measurements into the app when setting it up and get a recommended height range for each mode.
The ErgoFx app provides additional features to optimize the use of your desktop.
When we tried this feature, we preferred our table to be a little lower than what the app recommends. Of course, the recommended height may vary depending on individual preference and comfort level, and instead of following the recommendations, you can specify your own settings.
The application is minimal and convenient. There were no annoying pop-up ads, it was responsive and synced quickly with the desktop. We found the app to be a practical addition to the desk, enhancing its functionality and convenience.
ErgoFx – Keep your workspace organized
The ErgoFx desk may cost more, but it offers exceptional performance and quality, as well as additional features not typically found in other standing desks. The desk’s organizational features, such as the hidden extender and storage drawer, were particularly impressive. For people who want a standing desk that goes beyond just adjustable height, this can be a valuable investment.
