Apple has listed the first-generation 12-inch MacBook as a “discontinued” product. Launched in March 2015, the laptop started at $1,299 and featured Intel’s dual-core Core M processors, a fanless design, and the exact storage specifications as the latest MacBook Air, with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
According to Apple’s official website, discontinued products have been on sale for more than seven years since Apple stopped offering them. Apple will stop providing all hardware services for discontinued products, and service providers cannot order parts for finished products. Mac laptops may be eligible for battery-only repairs for longer, depending on parts availability.
