In an exclusive interview with TechRadar, Samsung confirmed that a range of its new Galaxy AI features will be coming to Galaxy S23 phones within the first half of 2023. These features include:
Circle To Search: This enhanced version of Google Lens allows users to search Google for objects using their fingertip or S Pen and the phone’s home button.
Live Translate: This feature enables real-time, two-way voice and text translations of phone calls within the native Samsung Phone app.
Note Assist: This AI-powered feature summarizes Samsung Notes text into easy-to-read templates.
Photo Assist: This feature allows users to adjust the angle of images and fill the resulting blank space with Generative AI content that matches the scene.
These features will be added to the Galaxy S23 series via Samsung’s One UI 6.1 update. It is expected that the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 will all receive the update.
Samsung has stated that, for now, Galaxy AI features will be limited to last-generation devices, even if they share the same chipset as older models. This means that phones like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, A54, and A34 will not be receiving Galaxy AI features in the near future.
The arrival of these Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S23 series is a significant development, as it brings some of the most advanced AI capabilities to Samsung’s flagship smartphones. These features have the potential to enhance productivity, communication, and creativity for users.
